Project Overview

I worked on the Duty of Care website, a program of the International Rescue Committee (IRC), which supports the resilience and well-being of staff and their families serving in some of the world’s most challenging humanitarian environments. It was an honor to contribute to a project that plays a small part in supporting people doing such important work.

The existing site needed a softer, more inviting design, clearer organization, stronger accessibility, and faster performance for users accessing it globally — often on limited internet speeds.

My Role
Website Design and Accessibility (part of collaborative team)

Softer, More Human Design
The updated visual direction introduced a calmer, more welcoming tone while maintaining professionalism and trust.

Improved Structure & Usability
Information was reorganized to make resources easier to find, reducing friction for users who may already be navigating stressful circumstances.

Accessibility & Global Performance
The redesign prioritized accessibility for users with disabilities and optimized performance to ensure fast load times across varying internet conditions worldwide.

Impact
The result is a clearer, more supportive online space that reflects the program’s mission — helping humanitarian workers and their families access the resources they need quickly and confidently.
