Grand Avenue Hair Club was the very first website I ever created — originally built as a student using hand-coded HTML and scripts, before WordPress and page builders were widely used. It was a foundational learning experience and one I’ve always appreciated.
More than fifteen years later, the client reached out requesting a redesign. The original site had been created before responsive design became standard, and it was ready for a modern update.

The new website features:
- A fully responsive design for all devices
- Cleaner navigation and improved structure
- Updated photography and copy
- Clear descriptions of salon services
- Customer testimonials
- SEO-friendly terminology for improved visibility
- Information about location and gift certificates
The redesign maintains the salon’s friendly, hometown charm while adding a layer of polish and sophistication appropriate for today’s web standards.
The first website was a great first-time opportunity for me as a designer, and I loved working with Chris and Kathy. It has been a joy to design their new website with the additional knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the years.
